  • President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud opened the Regional Trade Cooperation Conference in East African Community held in Mogadishu.

 

  • President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud concluded Phase 1 of the talks held in Kismayo with the Jubaland State administration, with assurances that the consultations will continue.

 

  • President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud delivered a speech at the Somalia-USA Trade and Investment Conference, noting that Somalia will prioritize developing economic infrastructure and modern technology, investing in agriculture, fishing, and energy, and creating employment opportunities for the youth.

 

  • President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud addressed the Somali people after Friday prayers, speaking on security matters, the government’s reconciliation with opposition, formalizing public land, and security incidents in the capital in recent days.

 

  • The Federal Government of Somalia has fully denied recent press reports claiming that Somalia and Sweden had entered into a “secret agreement” linking development aid and the repatriation of Somali citizens in Sweden.

  • Somalia’s Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali welcomed 148 Somalis who had been stranded in Yemen and were repatriated back by the Somali government.

 

  • Minister of Interior Ali Yusuf Ali (Hosh) participated in a ceremony welcoming the Speaker of the North-East Somalia State Parliament Dr. Adan Abdullahi Aw Hassan.

 

  • Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Hassan Moalim Mohamud delivered a speech at the opening of the conference establishing the Middle East and North Africa Network for Recovering Stolen Assets (MENA-ARIN) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

  • The East Africa Economic Community conference on trade held in Mogadishu concluded, focusing on boosting regional production.

 

  • Defense Minister, Amb. Ahmed Moalim Fiqi said the government plans to establish a dedicated welfare agency for the orphans of fallen Somali National Army soldiers to care for them.

 

  • Health and Social Care Minister Dr. Ali Haji Aden, participating in the Muslim World Health Ministers Conference in Amman, Jordan, held important bilateral meetings with health ministers from Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.

  • Somali National Army forces have kicked out Al Shabab Kharijites ilitants from areas under Awdheegle district in Lower Shabelle where they had used the area as a base.
