Kazan, 16 May 2025: With deepest respect and gratitude, the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Daud Aweis, attended the Congress of Ministers of Culture of the Islamic World and Russia held in Kazan, Tatarstan.
The gathering emphasized the importance of fostering dialogue, collaboration, and sustainable development through cultural exchange initiatives.
During his address, Minister Daud Aweis highlighted that in an increasingly interconnected world driven by globalization, culture serves as a crucial bridge—bringing people together, encouraging mutual understanding, and promoting peace across borders.
He further expressed that Somalia, as a proud member of the Islamic community, shares deep historical, cultural, and spiritual bonds with Muslims worldwide.
“Our shared cultural values and heritage are powerful tools for strengthening friendships, enhancing diplomatic ties, and promoting stability,” stated Minister Daud Aweis.
Concluding his remarks, the Minister extended heartfelt congratulations to Kazan for being named the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World for 2026. He wished the government and people of Tatarstan continued success and hoped that this recognition would inspire ongoing efforts to promote cultural diplomacy, friendship, and cooperation among nations.
