Ankara, May 21, 2025 : The delegation, led by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Abdirahman Yusuf Omar (Al-Adala), includes media directors from the Offices of the President, the Prime Minister, and the Ministry of Information, as well as senior advisors on media relations.During the visit, the delegation toured the headquarters of Turkish Radio and Television (TRT), the Anadolu News Agency, and Havelsan, one of the leading companies in the production and advancement of military, defense and technology equipment.
At the headquarters of the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), the delegation was presented with an overview of how this major media institution operates. TRT is considered one of the largest media organizations in the world.Deputy Minister Abdirahman Al-Adala and other members of the delegation toured the studios and archival departments of both the television and radio divisions of TRT.
At the Havelsan Defense Factory, which the delegation visited, they were briefed on advancements in communication and technology, as well as the role Havelsan plays in enhancing land, air, and maritime defense systems.The presentation also highlighted the rapid technological progress Türkiye is making, particularly as one of Somalia’s closest and most supportive allies.
The delegation also visited the headquarters of the Anadolu News Agency, where they began a two-day workshop and knowledge-sharing session.
The focus of the workshop is on how to prepare for and manage media relations during election periods, crisis management, and strategies for countering misinformation and disinformation.
The high-level delegation’s working visit, focused on exchanging experiences in media and public relations between the two governments, is hosted by the Directorate of Communications at the Presidency of Türkiye.As part of their visit, the delegation will also tour additional institutions, including the headquarters of the Directorate.
