The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdulfatah Qasim Mohamud, held a meeting with Deniz Demir, Coordinator of the Center for Countering Disinformation and Fake News at the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye in the field of information and communications, particularly by benefiting from Türkiye’s experience and expertise in countering and combating disinformation and fake news.
The two sides also discussed the potential future threats posed by disinformation and fake news to the strategic relationship between Somalia and Türkiye, as well as the importance of sustained cooperation between the two countries to safeguard accurate information and strengthen public trust.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Strategic Communications Department at the Ministry of Information, Abdishakur Ali Ahmed, and the Director of Somali National Television(SNTV), Mohamedkaafi Sheikh Abukar.
