Mogadishu, 23 June 2026 – The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdifatah Kasim Mohamud, today welcomed the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Libya to Somalia, Mr. Nasr Mohamed Al-Sanusi, at the Ministry’s headquarters during a courtesy and introductory visit.
Minister Abdifatah gave the Libyan Chargé d’Affaires a tour of the Ministry’s key institutions, including the Somali National Television (SNTV), Radio Mogadishu, the Somali National News Agency (SONNA), National Newspaper, and the Radio Mogadishu National Archives.
Following the tour, the Minister and the Chargé d’Affaires held a cordial meeting focused on introductions and strengthening bilateral relations. During the meeting, Mr. Al-Sanusi conveyed his congratulations to Minister Abdifatah on his recent appointment and wished him success in leading the Ministry toward achieving its strategic objectives in support of Somalia’s national development agenda.
The discussions also focused on enhancing cooperation between the two brotherly countries, particularly in the fields of information, media, culture, and tourism. Both sides explored opportunities to strengthen institutional collaboration, exchange expertise and professional experiences, and further deepen bilateral relations in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the Federal Republic of Somalia and the State of Libya.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister and the Chargé d’Affaires reaffirmed the importance of continued cooperation and coordination in the areas of information, culture, and tourism. They underscored their shared commitment to strengthening the longstanding historical ties and brotherly relations that unite the governments and peoples of Somalia and Libya.
